A downloadable game for Windows

1-bit 1-ability 3d platformer. Find your way to a mysterious tower while strategically swapping abilities.

Controls

game requires keyboard and mouse to play

  • WASD - move
  • Space - jump
  • E - pickup ability
  • LMB - activate ability
  • RMB - throw ability
  • Alt+f4 - quit! (sry, again)

Abilities/System explained:

General idea is to allow only one ability at a time, and abilities themselves are also represented as "physical" objects in a game world, thus can be thrown

Broken Wings Swapper Blaster
Propel player forward on activation. Work both on the ground and in the air Fires a thing which causes it's target and player to swap places. Works only on some targets. Shoots a projectile which explodes on impact. Can be used to destroy some obstacles and enemies

Lore/Theme implementation

You're trapped in an astral plane, pale vastness of nothingness, not knowing what you are and how did you get there.
Only small islands drifting under snow keep you from falling into abyss, while megalithic tower lingers in distance.
Ominous presence but also the only thing giving you sense of direction.
Maybe it holds answers, maybe it's just a mirage. But you have to try, you have to reach it. And you have to be ready to face whatever it holds inside.

Some regrets

or rather, SKILL ISSUES!
Spent most of my time on shader and ability system, so level design is absent - barely managed to put something playable.
Also, prepared some c++ stuff for graphics settings and sound, but didn't have time to actually use it in UI. Speaking of which, after submission, noticed that stupid crosshair is not "1-bit"...
And, of course, I forgot to add quit button in game, so you have to use alt+f4 to close it. Sorry for that, I'll try to fix it in post-jam version.
